Demi Kouzounas Statement on Angus King’s Campaign Announcement

Kouzounas says King represents the status quo that has left Mainers struggling

Saco, ME — In response to incumbent U.S. Senator Angus King’s announcement of his re-election campaign, Demi Kouzounas, the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Maine, issued a sharp critique of King’s track record and outlined her vision for Maine’s future.

“Angus King has had nearly 20 years in office to make a difference for Maine, and his time is up. Our families are grappling with rampant inflation, a housing crisis, and ongoing border security issues,” said Kouzounas. “Maine deserves a Senator who won’t just talk about problems, but will roll up their sleeves and solve them.”

“As a mother, grandmother, veteran, and small business owner, I see firsthand the challenges our families and local businesses face, from the skyrocketing costs of groceries and utilities to staffing shortages and rising crime,”

Kouzounas continued. “We need leadership that will alleviate these burdens, spur economic growth, and rescue the American Dream.”

Kouzounas declared, “Angus King represents the status quo, a status quo that has left Mainers struggling. We need real leadership that will fight for our future, not just maintain the broken system. I’m here to bring that change and I am ready to deliver the strong, effective leadership that Maine needs.”
